Progression Group Tryouts!
It is with great excitement that I am officially announcing the tryouts for our PROGRESSION GROUP! This will be the group of CORE RAIDERS from our guild that will help us achieve our end goals. To borrow the format of a popular expression, "Hardmode achievements call for hardcore standards." Tryouts will be open to everyone regardless of what rank you currently are. So, everyone will have a chance to skip the normal process and become more involved in the front lines of our guild's progression.
For those of you interested in this endeavor you should know that before anything else you will be held to a much higher standard. First and most importantly is:
Attendance
Once this group is formed with a minimum of twelve people we will collectively decide on a day and a time frame in which we can do these progression attempts. Once the day and time frame is set, it is your responsibility to make this time. If you are a no show (meaning you don't show up for the trial without giving any prior notice) this will be a mark against you. Three of these marks and you will be off the team and will be replaced until further notice. What is considered an acceptable notice of absence? I would like at LEAST a day's notice. Now we are all adults here, and real life takes priority. So if something pressing comes up and it is unavoidable, special consideration will be given and you will not receive a mark. PLEASE give us as much advance notice as possible. However, with this special consideration also comes with another consideration. As I said, we are all adults here, part of that is knowing your schedule. If I notice a pattern of behavior in which you constantly have things "come up" last minute I will have to reconsider your position on the team. The same will go for internet "drop-outs" if there is a pattern of disconnecting constantly we may have to reconsider your position on the team. Now should we be so lucky as to have MORE than twelve people pass this test it will make things easier for us to continue the prog night without a hitch. But may eventually lead to having to signup, OR adding a second prog group. We will cross that bridge when or if we come to it.
Deaths
Another thing that will be introduced is a death counter. At the end of each raid we will post up the amount of deaths each raider has had. Those with the most amount of deaths will receive special attention to see what is causing the deaths and what can be done to reduce this to zero if possible. If deaths continue to be a problem for this person they may be removed from the team.
Raid Readiness
This one is rather simple. Come to the raid ready. This means having foods, good potions, and REPAIR KITS. It is definitely possible to lose momentum if we are waiting for someone to go outside and repair and then fight the loading screen boss in between. This also means coming mentally prepared. What I am looking for is awareness. Now I know it takes time to learn mechanics especially when it is new, but if it's a mechanic we ALL should know by now and you are oblivious to it or if you aren't listening to instruction when it is called out then you shouldn't be in this group. I will give a few examples, starting with the most simple:
DON'T ENTER THE TRIAL UNTIL THE RAID CALLER TELLS YOU TO. - "Move up to the door.", does not mean enter the trial. This is the simplest thing I have seen SOOOO many people mess up on. With these attempts we will be doing you will cause us to have to reset the dungeon and waste another 10 minutes resetting it so we can start the clock when we are ready. This will NOT be tolerated at all.
Not taking overcharge out of the group
Not taking call lightning out of the group
Moving when you have poison
Running the completely wrong way when we call for runes on the first boss in vAA.
Fighting the wrong add during the 3rd boss in vAA.
These are all mechanics designed to prepare you for the next challenge. If we have a group that cannot perfect these, we will never get to the leaderboards. These kind of things will be carefully watched, the simpler the mechanic the larger the reprimand if you mess it up.
Here are the class specific requirements:
DPS
- 30k+ Single target DPS on the 3 million health skeleton. Done completely solo with no help from anyone else.
- Damage shield max leveled. Harness magicka or hardened ward. Stam use Deadly Cloak and/or vigor.
- A very minimum of 17k Health self buffed
Healers
- Acquired sets: SPC, Worm, Mending, (more may be announced)
- 80% uptime on magicka steal and 70% uptime on combat prayer (this will be tested in a live vet trial in a TBD boss fight.)
- Unlocked and max level Aggressive Warhorn.
Tanks
- 33k minimum resists self buffed
- Acquired set: Ebon armor (more may be announced)
- Unlocked and max level Aggressive Warhorn
- Must tank last boss in vAA and handle all the axes solo.
- Must tank vHR and not die against warrior.
Tryouts begin immediately. If you would like to be considered for this team please let me know here on the forum and we will schedule something.

I'd prefer to progress my tank skills, but I can play whichever role is needed. I need vSO and vMoL under my belt. And well... Halls of Fabrication too lol
I like cheese...and killing shit. Sometimes in that order, and sometimes not. I guess it depends on whether or not Sifu has been designated my healer...
Have some thoughts on the DPS test dummy Ty, but I'll talk to ya about those in-game. Cheers!
Firstly, my apologies for me not being able to make the couple late night raids. As most of you should know by now, I have a job that is currently not in sync with the raid times anymore :-( It is a better opportunity for me IRL just not in ESO. You guys know our raid times end at 5am my time and I get up just a few hours later to get some lovely girls to school. Then I would come home and sleep for a few hours until I had to work. Well now I'm heading to work directly after so no time for a quick nap. It's a good thing (I'm making double what I was) ,but I would absolutely love it if I could get a chance at this that coincides with my schedule.
Im in! Could maybe dps as well as heal, i did get 25k on the test dummy a couple times but on average im getting like 23k so still a tad short.
Well, I have 5 veteran level characters and so far none of them meet any of the qualifications. I have a few Ebon Armor Items kicking around in the inventory, but combining that with another complete set might not work. Eriadna recently hit 22K on the target dummy, but that involved a respec that killed ranged interrupt. I'll let you know if I can get a character ready.
On second thought:
I just made it to 25K DPS on the dummy. IA jewelry & better timing on potions & curses.
Like I sad yesterday, sure, happy to join progression group if you could use me :3 So far, run times are good for me, the only small issue might arise on Saturday, because I would have two hours (maybe a bit more, since these like to start late) till core raid in my other guild.
